Guilty Pleasure
Just got back from out-of-town vacation at Bataan to hit the beach and tan a little, catch up with my latest read and most priceless of all, do some sleep recovery. As soon as I’m back to the deserted city that is Manila and connected to the internet, I clicked my bookmark to http://delfindjmontano.blogspot.com/ to get my fix of my guilty pleasure this Holy Week. It’s reading the blog of Brian Gorrell, an Aussie who unleashed a flurry and frenzy of intrigues lately involving some self-proclaimed members of the metro’s elite society–the ones he tags as social climbers which go by the group name of Gucci Gang. Everything started when he was duped by his partner DJ Montano whom he accuses of stealing away a life’s worth of savings from him. He drags along his cohorts–Celine Lopez, Tim Yap, the list goes on…He adds even more color and glitz to their colorful and stellar personalities by telling shocking stories about them. How they use their connections to party like the animals that they are, for free; how they get so many moolah out of questionable careers and be even able to finance their addiction to cocaine. The intensity of the accusations, the mudslingings and the retaliatory attacks on his blog have reached a plague-like proportion, the news spreading very fast and loud over the world wide web. It’s the first online telenovela of its kind with vengeance as its roaring theme. An antithesis to the Holy week’s theme of repentance. Therefore, guilty I am to indulge in this kind of pleasure now. Advanced Happy Easter!
